Dallas Mavericks secure victory over Phoenix Suns

Luka Doncic leads the charge in Game 2 of Western Conference Finals

The Dallas Mavericks have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals after a thrilling 109-108 victory over the Phoenix Suns. Luka Doncic was once again the star of the show, leading the Mavericks with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists.

The Suns, who came into the game with the best record in the league, looked poised to take an early lead in the series. They jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter, but the Mavericks battled back to tie the game at halftime.

The second half was a back-and-forth affair, with neither team able to gain a significant lead. The Mavericks finally took the lead for good with just over two minutes remaining in the game. Doncic hit a jumper to give the Mavericks a 107-106 lead, and then drew a foul on Devin Booker on the next possession. Doncic made both free throws to give the Mavericks a 3-point lead.

The Suns had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Booker's 3-point attempt was off the mark. The Mavericks secured the rebound and held on for the victory.

Doncic was brilliant for the Mavericks, but he got plenty of help from his teammates. Jalen Brunson scored 24 points, Dorian Finney-Smith added 18 points, and Maxi Kleber had 16 points.

The Suns were led by Booker's 28 points. Chris Paul added 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Deandre Ayton had 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Mavericks will now have a chance to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series when they host the Suns in Game 3 on Saturday night.
